Super Smash Cricket
What a cracker day for cricket 🏏on Thursday 9th March. Two teams from Whakamārama played a total of 8 games on Bay Oval, with some of the scores almost too close to call!! Our cricketers showed amazing sportsmanship, positive attitudes, perseverance and determination right until the end. It was fantastic to see the skill and teamwork improve with each game ⭐️Ka pai tō mahi, Whakamārama 😊
SPCA Fundraiser - Character Day
What a great turnout of characters for our SPCA fundraiser on Friday 24th February. This fundraising came about through our learners. In educational terms, we call this learner agency. What is agency? Students have a sense of agency when they feel in control of things that happen around them; when they feel that they can influence events. This is an important sense for learners to develop.
To follow up our fundraiser, our organisers visited the Tauranga SPCA on Tuesday 28th February. Much fun was had! Our donation of $130, towels and cat food was much appreciated. Playing with the kittens was a hit. Puppies and bunnies were also checked out.
