On Thursday and Friday we had lots of fun talking about fractions in maths time. We made sandwiches and cut up feijoas.
We were all very cautious about being fair so Miss Casserly had to make sure that each half of the sandwich was equal/same size. We know that if we cut 1 whole sandwich in half, there would be two parts. These are called halves! Then we got really tricky and cut a sandwich into 4 equal parts. These are called quarters or fourths.
On Friday we cut feijoas into halves and quarters then got to gobble them up as a healthy snack. This was great fuel for our brains as we worked so well in our next challenge. We sorted lots of different object into equal groups. Again, we were very careful to make sure that each group was equal. Stay tuned to see more of our fraction fun!
