We were so lucky to have visitors from the Katikati library come to visit us yesterday. They read lots of wonderful stories and even got us dressed up to act out the story of the three little pigs. We had a blast listening and taking part in ‘Stories at Your Place’ and can’t wait to see them next year! Thank you Katikati library!
On Friday we decided to take the kindy kids to the library. We read The Little Yellow Digger Goes to School and then we read with a buddy. Our teachers were so impressed with the way we handled the books so gently and used inside voices when we read. Thank you to the kindy kids for visiting!
We were very lucky to have Constable Sarah come to Whakamarama School to talk to us about keeping ourselves safe. We really enjoyed our time with Constable Sarah and learnt a lot! On our last visit we got to see the baton and handcuffs, we got to go in the police car, hear the sirens, hear Constable Sarah on the loud speaker and see the flashing lights. What an awesome afternoon!
We would like to say a big thank you to Constable Sarah for taking the time to come and see us.

Welcome to term 3! We have had a busy first week back with lots going on already! On Friday we had David in our class for his first school visit. As you can see, we were very busy having fun learning about length. We can’t wait for David’s next school visits and his first actual school day!
We celebrated our 100th day of learning in style with lots of fun activities and a delicious shared lunch.
We started the day off with 100 exercises to get our hearts pumping. We then completed many activities based on the number 100. We found 100 words around the room, counted to 100, joined 100 paper clips together, drew 100 goldfish for our fishbowl, wrote about if what we would do if we were 100 years old and created a self-portrait of what we would look like if we were 100 years old!
Take a look at our fabulous day.
