Body Parts

Room 1 enjoyed their visit from Harold and Michael.  They learned lots about the different parts of the body and the important jobs they do.  Back in class, the students were able to explore sheep organs.  Thank you to Bostock Butchery in Te Puna for providing the offal!

Orienteering

In case you have seen us running around the school with pieces of paper and been wandering what we are up to, we have been practising our map reading skills.  For maths we have been learning about position and direction including using maps, compass directions and co-ordinates.  We have tied this in with some orienteering for PE.

Wild about New Zealand

Caroline Kenny visited with lots of information about different river creatures and how to assess the health of the water based on the type of micro-organisms found.  The children had fun observing the different creatures and identifying them.
