Cyclist Safety With Constable Sarah

3/20/2017

Room One had our second session today with Constable Sarah. Last time we discussed our behaviors and attitudes towards cycling. Including, how to look after our bikes and wear our helmets properly. Safety is number one!

Today, we got to actually ride our bikes! We learnt about being safe on the roadside, how to indicate which direction we were turning, and of course, how to stop! Constable Sarah brought in a cool obstacle course that tested our cycling dexterity!

Some students in Room 1 have been exploring the globe, learning about geography and time zones!

Did you know that different places in the world have different times zones?

If it is 2:00pm in Whakamarama, it is only 11:00am in Tokyo Japan!

Sharing Our Taniwha Myths

During sea week, we have studied different types of sea life, habitats and environments. We have also been learning about the writing genre of 'myths'. Throughout the week, we have written and illustrated our own myths, featuring a Sea Taniwha. Today we joined with Room 3 and shared our stories and art. Thanks Room 3 for sharing with us!
