Managing Self

What does “managing self” look like at Whakamarama School?

A student who is competent at managing themselves is self-motivated, and able to establish goals, make plans, manage projects and set high standards for themselves. They have a “can do” attitude, positive self-worth and a self-awareness that enables them to act appropriately in challenging situations.

To become a competent self-manager, students at Whakamarama School need to develop the following set of skills, knowledge areas, understandings and attitudes:
